Description
This small knoll like formation piggybacks off the main range formation, where it starts to rise from the Lake Superior. The Huron Islands National Wildlife Refuge is 3 miles offshore, Abbaye peninsula juts out 6 miles to the northwest, The Keweenaw peninsula, the largest peninsula on the largest lake in the world, dominates the distant view from the west all the way to the northeast.
Getting There
From Big Eric's head east, at 0.5 mile turn LEFT onto the road to Little Huron river bridge. At 1.3 miles head to LEFT, note gate labeled "DAVIO" to right. At 3.3 ml turn left. At 3.7 ml the road heads to left "north" and parallels the Little Huron. At 4.6 ml turn RIGHT and 4.7 ml is the Little Huron river and bridge. Continue on main track for roughly 1.2 miles, the Lookout is on the right.
