Shorter in nature and less frequented than the north face this side of the rock is home to a number of moderate cracks as well as couple of challenging face routes with the highlight being Savage Puppy (5.11c). Climbs here range in difficulty from 5.5 to 5.11 with most being 5.10+ and under.

Getting There

Lower Dinosaur Rock is easily approached via a good trail which starts from the edge of Campsite 2. Plan on about 5-10 minutes for the approach.

It start by following a arching seam then transitions into crimps, crimps and more crimps to the top. Originally rated 5.11d/12a but it seems a bit easier than that. ...[more]   Browse More Classics in California
