Description Suggest change

The Lower Wall, on the right side of the main monolith as you approach it, contains about a half-dozen two and three-pitch bolted routes (see topo among photos), varying in difficulty from 5.7 to 5.10 with one line having a couple of hard 5.11/12 moves at the start due to a broken hold. The wall is north facing, and only gets oblique sunlight. There's a nice cave up the 3rd class slab at the base, to duck out of the sun in warmer months.

All routes have new 3/8" bolts and all anchor stations have a pair of bolts. A couple of the routes are equipped with quick-links to rap off, and can be descended with a single 60 m rope. Or you can walk off to climbers right from the top. Also, from a top of the lower wall, a pleasant walk up the slabs to the left takes you to the summit of the upper wall in 5-10 minutes, with fabulous 360-degree views of the Ramanagara landscape.

Getting There Suggest change

See map for location. From the parking spot, marked in the map for Achalu, continue walking down the dirt road that you were driving along. The path starts at a grove of mango trees, then winds left and eventually back right through a field of papayas just before getting to the wall. Approach time is 10-15 minutes.
