At the top, with the 1200 ft high Savandurga Hill ...

Description

Louvre, in my opinion, is one of the finest climbs in Southern India. A beautiful, two pitch crack system that takes you to a picturesque summit.

P1: 5.9, 100 ft - follow the sustained hand crack up to the tree and belay from there.

P2: mostly 5.7, 100 ft - head up from the tree along the hand crack; after you pull over the first lip, the grade eases and makes for a very pleasant romp to the top. At the roof, about 25 ft below the top, step right to the crack, plug some gear and finish up along the glorious hand crack. A couple microcams might be handy for the top anchor, or else head a little further back to the boulders.

Location

The approach is tricky and a fun little adventure in itself. Best done with someone who knows their way there.

Protection

Single rack of Camalots from 0.4 to #3 and doubles in 0.75, #1 and #2. A dozen slings. A couple of microcams are handy for the top but not essential.
