Looking for Seattle area climbing partners for whenever

Hey mountainproject! I'm back in Seattle after being at school for a while, and while there's a crazy amount of close, good climbing, I feel like I haven't gotten on any of it. Most people I know here have done all the classic stuff already and aren't too psyched on repeating. I'm looking for people who want to explore with me or show me around, especially people I can call spontaneously if I get off work early for afternoon/evening sessions. Right now I'm super stoked on Index as I just went for the first time, and pretty much want to try everything there and at Goldbar. I'd also be down to check out Exit 32.

Quick about me.. 23 year old, male.. fairly solid V7 climber (or maybe 8.. trying to start bagging soft 9s soon), and the hardest sport I've sent is a 12c in Red Rocks and a few in Montana. Whatever that means.. (Index 11+? lol.) Honestly, grades are so subjective and a lot of the climbing here is so sandbagged that the numbers don't mean much to me. I almost equally enjoy sending moderates as projecting hard routes, and I definitely want to get on all the fun lower grade routes around here. Also, my car is pretty ghetto so I would prefer not to drive, but I can. As far as gear goes, I don't have a crash pad. Sorry. I do have a rope and draws though, and with it being so hot I'm more interested in sport climbing at the moment.

What I'm looking for in partners: most importantly, positive people who love climbing and are motivated to climb. I'm super laid back, but I like being efficient in climbing and getting on a lot of problems, not just going out and doing a warmup and a project and that's it. I'd be most comfortable climbing with people near my age, but if any more experienced climbers want do some trad/multipitch that would be excellent. I've had some experience with trad climbing to where I can lead but it *won't* be fast ;)

I don't know how effective this forum is, but I figured I'd just leave this here. Feel free to reply or email or whatever even if this post is buried, I think it'll email me. Cheers! Happy climbing..

Hey deanald,

I'm always looking for partners as well. Seem to climb in about the same range. Pretty psyched on index, have a full rack and car. I also enjoy sport climbing and bouldering, combination of it all keeps motivated. Midweek is usually best for me although I can squeeze a weekend now and again. Let me know if you'd like to get out.

Hi everyone, I'm hoping to get a day in at the Index before I leave WA and head home to the UK. I can do either the 18th or 19th August if anyone fancies trad up to .10 or sport/seconding a bit harder.
email is best neil.d.coxATgooglemail.com
I have a 60m rope, rack and transport.
thanks,
Neil

Deanald: I climbing in a similar range, and will be moving to Seattle in the relatively near future (Sept 1st, ish) Once I'm there, I will definitely be looking for partners. I enjoy sport, bouldering, and trad climbing (in roughly that order of preference), and am excited to explore all the local areas.

I'll let you know once I'm in the area.

I have Monday 18th free but head back to the UK soon after that. Still keen to get out to the Index which should be handy for Seattle Yotam. I have a pickup I can borrow if we need transport. I don't have a US phone so email is best, neil.d.coxATgooglemail.com

cheers,
Neil
