Looking for a climbing partner in Ohio (Cincinnati)

Hello all.......

I am looking for a climbing partner in the Cincinnati area to train with. I currently climb with my kids and even though it's fun I'm always at all all time high of safety and security. Not that I don't want to be safe lol. It's great pushing the kids but I'm unable to push myself. I have 3 kids that cling with me so rope time for me becomes minimal.

I have plenty of gear but limited on trad climbing experience. I have a full rack and plenty of rope. I'm hoping to find someone else that is interested in building experience with. I also have the gear to aid climb with which I need to work on as well. I climb in yellow springs Ohio at John Bryan state and red river gorge Ky with the kids. Honestly not a huge fan of the gym but totally willing to go to do some training if I get with the right individual.

I started rapelling when I was 14 and have had rope rescue training (years ago). So I'm not a rookie just lacking wall time I need. My goal is to climb El Capitan next year (2017).

I'm 37, 6,2", 235lbs, and very active outdoors.

Anyone interested?

you posted in the "southern states" section of the forum, you will likely have more success if you post this in the correct area. good luck with el cap!

Only reason I posted here is because ky is in the southern states and I climb there. Ohio doesn't have its own place that I seen. Where would you suggest I post this?

Totally understandable. My son is 165 but we just find means to tie him down. Big rock, tree root, etc. sometimes limits me on clmbs but we've done pretty well with it so far.

I just sent you an email. I live in northern Cincinnati and am too looking for a climbing partner around my size. I have the gear too but just need some more Rock time. Let me know.

Sounds like we are in a similar situation! My email is jbradleycarr@gmail.com and cell is 5136074671. Would love to talk about RRG trips and Mosaic in Cincy.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
