  • Access Issue at Lone Rock

Climbing at lone Rock Point is currently under negotiations between CRAG-VT and the Diocese. These talks are going very positively so please do not climb here until CRAG is able to finalize secure and lasting climbing access. Bouldering on the one big boulder in the lake is fine but the cliff itself is still being worked through.

You cooperation is GREATLY appreciated! Thank you!

    Getting There

Best to access with a canoe, although you could hike out from North Beach, then swim to the boulder.
About a 15 minute hike/canoe from North beach

Thrust Fault V3+ 6A+  Vermont : Lone Rock : Lone Rock Bouldering
A fun climb up the Northmost corner of the Boulder.Start in the water, make a couple interesting moves to a big shelf and move around to the left and gain the ledge. Traverse right, then make a few big moves on decent holds, and one massive move to top out on the corner. harder if you are shorter, hence the +V4+ Variation: Instead of moving around to the left and gaining the rest, move straight up the open-book corner and make a big move. Continue into the familiar over hang to the top....[more]   Browse More Classics in Vermont

As stated in the description it is important to approach this boulder appropriately. There is a sensitive access issue currently going on at Lone rock point. If you do not approach this by boat you need to obtain a proper day pass or permission from the Diocese.

To add to DRusso the passes are free. Their office is open 9-5 weekdays and is located near their solar panels along the road from North Beach/BHS area. There is a parking lot and some big fields across from the office, you can park here.
