On the West side of Yankee Jim Canyon there is a large amount of boulders to play on with various problem grades.

Follow this link to an older guide for the area, I'm not sure if more routes have been established.

Getting There

Follow HWY 89 south until you get to Tom Miner Basin Road. Head west over the bridge. When the road splits stay on the lower road. Follow this to the Sphinx Creek Trailhead. Park and follow the social trail up to the boulder field.

Left side of the boulder, climbing the arete. Crux at the top rocking over on bad high feet, reaching a sloper left of the lip. Easier if you are tall. Low start left on crimps adds 2-3 moves but no difficulty....[more]   Browse More Classics in Montana

Still washed out, but you can come in from the South if you cross at Corwin Springs and heading back North past the CUT complex

Any idea if the road is open again

Road is washed out indefinitely. You can park before the washout and hike 15-20 min or drive to Corwin Springs, take the bridge and drive dirt roads back north. Take the right most path at all forks you hit and you will reach the parking lot.
