Pitch 1

Description

  • All descriptions taken directly from "Puerto Rico Rock Climbing Mini Guides: Cerro Las Tetas, Salinas PR" by Aventuras Tierra Adentro, available on their website.
Pitch 1 (5.10a, 95ft): Follow the dihedral towards the roof. The first anchor encountered is for top-roping. For multi-pitching continue to the second anchor.
Pitch 2 (5.11c, 50 ft): Outrageous! Undercling and lay-back the crack to your right. Don't think of it as a roof. Stay in control, keep cool, it's safe! The crux is the traverse after the roof and can be aided.
Pitch 3 (5.10c, 60ft): Don't look down! Let's rephrase that: don't look past your feet. Enjoy the exposure!
Pitch 4 (5.10c, 60 ft) Cool moves that will take you almost to the top of the tit.
If you want to get to the very top, fourth class climbing with dangerously loose blocks can get you to "the nipple". Is it worth the lick?

Location

#16 Brass marker at base
Descent: Two ropes are necessary-but you only need one to climb. Leave one rope at the base.
Rappel the route to the top of Pitch 2. For the last-long 150' free rappel (from the top of Pitch 2 to the ground), the first climber rappels on a single rope. Now on the ground he/she ties the rope to the one left at the base. The climber at the top hauls the second rope and prepares a two-rope rappel.

Protection

Pitch 1: 13 bolts to rap anchors
Pitch 2: 9 bolts to rap anchors
Pitch 3: 7 bolts to rap anchors
Pitch 4: 9 bolts to rap anchors
