Hi there, My partner and I are planning to be in Little Switzerland, Alaska Range, in early June. If you have any topos or route information, I would love some ideas and info before rolling into the ranger station in talkeetna. Looking for 5.9 routes and easier, could do 5.10 if short section or splitter/ straightforward/ protects well.
It has 2 of the classic routes of little switzerland with loads of info and topos(not to mention classics of the whole other central AK range which make a great read if nothing else). The ranger station does also have a binder full of info.
Here's a TR I put together from a trip a couple years ago. Most of the info at the ranger station is for routes harder than your looking for. Check out the AAJ and Supertopo book as mentioned above. You may want to stop by AMS and take a look at there topos also. I didn't know about them until after our trip.
Feel free to PM me if you want more specific info.
Sweet- thanks you guys. I saw your trip report- that is a great report. I saw a list of routes that the AAI does that were easier- I'll bet that's similar to the routes AMS guides- thanks for the heads up on their topos.
If anyone has skiing experiences they'd like to share I'll take that as well : )
