Access Issue: Restrictions January 1 - April 30
Details
There is an annual closure from Jan 1 - Apr 30 prohibiting travel more than 400' off of established trails due to bighorn sheep lambing season. The current order can be found here ( fs.usda.gov/Internet/FSE_DO…) but will be extended when the current order expires.
Newly bolted
i put up Sent to the office years ago. I named if after I got down and my daughter had been sent to the office. Less bold and less ego driven I recently went back and rebolted Sent to the office. It goes with a rack of quickdraws, one rope, and is just as fun but less serious now (for me more fun). The wall is north facing with lots of shade. Short approach for this side of the Catalinas. Feels like the back country. A helmet is highly recommended. Bring a set of cams up to #4 Camelot if you want to do the big corner. More bolts on the other routes coming soon.
Getting There
From Tucson take Oracle road North. 2 traffic lights after McGee is Linda Vista go right, towards the mountains. Trailhead parking is 1/4 mile up on the right.
From the trail head hike up hill after 20 minutes you will come to metal sign. Continue up on the right side of the drainage. This is the trail to Pusch Peak. About 15 minutes up the trail you will see a big low angle slab on the right with a conspicious green dot of lichen. Cut off the trail when you are even with the green dot. For Hierarchy of needs cut over a couple of minutes earlier heading for the left side of the slab
