This area has dry tooling routes amongst rock routes on west side of Florida River.

Getting There

From the intersection of CR250 and Florida Road (Bread), follow Florida Road east for about 12 miles. Stay left at a signed intersection and continue on CR243 for about 5 more miles to reach a gate at the north end of Lemon Reservoir. Follow signs to Transfer Park Campground, and park at Burnt Timber TH. Hike back through the Transfer Park Campground and down a short trail to a knotted fixed rope that leads to the base of the cliff.

Please do not park in the campground. If someone is camping in site 21 which is where you access the climbing area, please be respectful and talk with them about what you are going to do. DO NOT just walk through the site without acknowledging the campers. There are several side trails before you arrive at site #21, and you can take these to skirt the campsite completely.

Climbing Season

For the Durango area.

Dehydrated Lemon M6  Colorado : CO Ice & Mixed : ... : Lemon Resevoir - West Side ...
This has several crux sections, but good rests are available. Start with some slab moves to the first bolt (easy to clip) with sketchy feet. Then go straight up using a variety of tool placements and sometimes poor feet. An easier section in the middle leads to a final crux reaching the anchor. This route has been fairly well-cleaned, but more loose rock may develop. It can be climbed as a rock route at about 5.8+....[more]   Browse More Classics in Colorado
