Lembert Dome Rock Climbing
Lembert Dome from across the meadow. Right before...
This is the prominent dome a quarter mile east of the Tuolumne Meadows Store. It offers good climbing and easy access.
The West Face is a short walk from the parking lot. "The Water Cracks", "Werner's Wiggle", "Truckin' Drive" and "Rawl Drive" are a few good routes on this face.
The Northwest Face has longer routes and the classic "Crying Time Again".
The East Face is a longer walk to a number of short, poorly protected routes and top ropes.
Park in paved and signed Lembert Dome Picnic Area parking lot at the base of the West Face. For approaches from here to the Northwest or East Faces, see those pages.
Here are three photos describing descent options from the summit.

Summit, hiking trail comes down from the east side if you don't like the slab descents...

An awesome crack route that is generally well-protected. Very memorable views and climbing. 3rd class up (about 150') to the base of the most obvious cracks on the NW Face and build a belay. p1- Climb a great crack to a 5.9 overlap. Pull the overlap. Book says to stop here. We continued through the next great 5.8 crack section and stopped on a roomy ledge. Right at the end of the 60m, but we could've third-classed in higher from the ground. 5.9, 200'. p2- Climb great 5.8 fingers to a .10a hands...[more] Browse More Classics in CA
