Leftism Alcove Rock Climbing
Luke Childers climbing "Brain Child."
This area can offer good shade and good protection from rain. The rock is good and the lines fun. The landing for most of the problems is not so great however. But bring some friends and all should be fine.
The direction are the same as for locating "The Brothers Lookout." Once at the formation head up to the second tier via a gully that is best accessed from the east. Walk past "Left Brain Buttress" and keep looking to your right or north and you will see this quaint little alcove with a few nice lines.

Start just right of "Brain Child" in a left-leaning crack. Follow the crack up into a mean, right hand, finger lock. Pull hard and power left (1st crimps still dirty, so be careful) into a small set of crimps. Work these crimps to the lip of the head-wall. Finish on better holds leading to the summit of the "Brothers Lookout." Great climbing with a possibly very dangerous crux fall. I took it by myself a few times and it was spooky and not recommended. Enjoy. ...[more] Browse More Classics in Colorado
