A small toprope/sport climbing spot in an abandoned quarry. Shady climbing on shorter routes with a convenient and flat base area.

Getting There

On the south side of Route 8 south of Lake Pleasant, there's a small pull off in front of a rusted up gate about 150 feet from Tamarack road.

Climbing Season

For the G: Indian Lake Region area.

Weather station 5.2 miles from here

What length would work here? Would a 30m rope be too short? Or would it be better to use a 60m rope?

Yeah, I think a 30m rope would work OK. The routes are short!

Got out there this weekend and got stung twice by a hornet on my right hand while setting up the anchor for Barrel of Monkeys! Watch out

Also, as far as protection goes for the few trad leads here, they tend to possess smaller cracks, which tend to be parallel sided. Small cams might be handy to have. Most cracks are bomber, but a few are a bit gritty or even a bit friable around the ledge which splits some of the routes.
