Description

The Lake George region has a very long season, can heat up in the summer (but not unbearable) ive found the prime climbing seasons to be late spring (too early in spring and you might run into a bit of water and seeping on some cliffs) and fall, even with snow on the ground i have scavenged some great days on the rock surrounding a frozen lake with a bustling tourist town to return to and grab some food.

The routes described are only a hit of what exists in these areas, please purchase the guide book Adirondack Rock (Adirondackrock.com) for full descriptions and updated route information.

There's a bunch of great routes on this cliff, but this one is extra special. The first pitch is a nice, easy slab, and the top pitch is a corner and crack -- exposed and awesome -- and overhangs about 10'.P1 5.7 G: Go up steps, through a notch, then a short slab to a blueberry ledge. Go straight up the slab above aiming for a short right-facing corner, above which is a comfortable ledge with a fixed anchor. 80'P2 5.11a G: This is what you hiked here for. Step right from the ledge and go up a ri...[more]   Browse More Classics in New York
