Description

The lake itself wanes and waxes between a lake and a pond. Along the side of the lake are some boulders and a couple top-ropes. The climbing here is not of superb quality or quantity, it is just nicely close and convenient for when you want to get some climbing in without putting effort in and it can be climbed in the winter.

Getting There

Lake Kaweah is located off the side of highway 198 outside of Three Rivers.

South Top-Rope 5.8 5b 16 VI- 15 HVS 4c  California : Sequoia & Kings Canyon NP : Kaweah Lake
A fun and convenient wall that lies 30 minutes outside of Visalia. The top-rope wall contains several variations that can be easier or harder than 5.8, it is not one particular route. There are now several new bolted anchors at the top that are much prettier, and less completely corroded than the old ones. The base of the climb is sandy so be sure to bring a rope tarp, or somethin'. In early season the wall can be under water, which tends to make climbing it a bit harder than usual....[more]   Browse More Classics in California
