BETA PHOTO: Showing three climbs on Karen Rock
The tallest formation at Moonstone Beach is Karen Rock. Numerous 60 foot topropes, variations, and a couple trad excursions can be found here. It faces west collecting the afternoon sun and is often strung with ropes on a nice day.
Walk north up the beach for 75 yards. Look right.

Dream Theme is one of the most prominent lines on Karen Rock. Start by underclinging the left leaning finger crack, reach right to the rounded side pull, put your right foot high and reach left to a undercling/sidepull. Step up and grab the "six pack handle" with your right hand. Reach through with your left hand to the first right facing edge. Grab the next edge with your right hand. Pull through to the giant hueco and the "egg". Traverse right under the roof and up the face to the anchors....[more] Browse More Classics in California

Climber on Urchin (5.10c), Karen Rock
By Sam Prentice

Walk up sandy trail. Set up TR. Climb solid conglomerate to see foggy redwoods and meandering estuary, or belay from sand as sun sets.
Heaven on earth, either way.
