  • Description

Incredible place to mix swimming and bouldering. Limited climbs, but there are about a dozen boulders just waiting for someone to find a line on them. The boulder on the river has been popular in the summer as a jumping rock, and there are several enjoyable but risky climbs out of the water. The most exciting problems are dry, and a few yards upriver.

This place has been touched very little by climbers, and needs a good cleaning to open up some untapped climbs. Moss and lichen cover golden holds, so be creative and adventurous.

NOTE: PRIVATE PROPERTY ON THE HILL ABOVE. Also, avoid unnecessary erosion.

    Getting There

Dirt access road off the end of Yosemite Pines Lane. Follow it to the river, the Jumping Rock is obvious (on the left end of the swimming hole), and the One Way Boulder is a few yards upriver on the left of the trail before the meadow (large rock with a horizontal crack across the entire face).

Amazing route with real potential, just needs a good cleaning. Start on the crimps on the left hand side of this slightly overhanging feature and move up and to the right to finish on the column uphill. You'll find some of the best holds are covered in moss, so it needs some care. If the top holds were cleaned, this could be some of the best movement and rock quality in the area....[more]   Browse More Classics in California
