Reed Rombough here, I'm the rope access field operations manager for a company called One Global Telecom. We're a small start up company based out of Dallas that does work on cell towers. I moved down here from Salt Lake City, previously I was a climbing instructor for The Front Climbing Club and a gear head at Backcountry.com. Then I was a dirtbag for four months when this job kinda found me. We're trying to build crews that go and do cell tower decommissions. Sprint used to own Nextel but Nextel has basically kaput. However, Nextel still has tons of towers with antennas and wiring on them all over the greater Texas area (Oklahoma, Arkansas, Texas etc). Sprint is still paying rent on these towers and they are having to remove all of the antennas in an effort to save money. I'm pulling 5-8 towers a week right now. The work is really simple, the money is really good, and I'm not asking for a ton of experience.
All I ask for is educated, driven people who are comfortable at height, can work hard and like to climb. I'm still an active climber down here (not as much as when I was living in SLC but I still climb) and I'm paying off my student debt really fast. If you're interested, hit me up!
