While public climbing is still legally and enforceably prohibited at Sky Top, you may climb LEGALLY at Sky Top as a guided client, since 2007. MORE INFO >>>

Description

Climb an overhanging left facing corner to the top of the cliff. The corner leans a little to the left. Nice technical climbing and abundant places for pro. A fun climb for the experienced 5.9 climber. A Skytop classic.

Location

Located about 65ft right of the Laurel and Hardy pinnacle.

Protection

Standard Gunks rack. Rap off trees with 2 ropes or hike East to the Staircliff descent.

I climbed this years ago around 1992 with Al Diamond leading it. I remember falling halfway up and because of the overhanging blocky roofs I was barely able to get back onto the wall. I had to force myself to swing, and with an outstretched leg was able to push off the wall to gain access to a hand hold. Perhaps not an experienced 5.9 climber at the time, but boy what fun it was!
