Description

This wall is one of the most secluded sections of the Endless wall. There are not a whole bunch of high quality routes here, but its worth the hike to climb the Mechanical Bull (13a). Most routes are 5.11 to 5.12 with an equal distribution of trad and sport lines.

Getting There

Take the ladders to the cirque and then hike for ten minutes along the base of the cliff (climbers left). Total approach time from the Cirque ladders is 10 minutes. You'll know you're close when you pass by the obvious 10' "Stalagtite" that is imbedded in the ground.

This is an overlooked classic that has a bit of everything on it, including bomber pockets that seem way more like something from Funk Rock City at the RRG than anything at the NRG! It shares the same steep, bouldery start as Mechanical Bull (13a), but after the "bull's head" rest, moves directly right. Fairly easy underclings laybacks for a couple bolts lead into a left-moving pre-crux of sequential pockets, crimps, and the best jug on the route (which has NO feet, dammit!). The pump builds ...[more]   Browse More Classics in West Virginia
