Isle of Mull Rock Climbing
Leaving a dark stormy day on the Mull Ferry
The second largest of the Inner Hebrides, Mull has some fantastic climbing on beautiful granite and in idyllic settings.
Either catch a ferry from Oban to Craignure or Lochaline to Fishnish. Regardless, you'll be heading out on the main road south from either port on the Isle (the A848). Shortly past Craignure the main road becomes the A849 and turns to single-track all the way to Fionphort. Because it's single-track it will take an hour or more to get all the way to Fionphort.
Gas (petrol) is not easy to come by and when you do find a station it's rather expensive. Make sure you have a full tank when you cross to the Isle. There is a station between Bunessan and Fionphort.
