Island Ford Rock Climbing
Located in the Island Ford section of the Chattahoochee National Recreation area along the river, there are several overhung features and boulders with a nice variety of low to mid range bouldering problems. Most are pumpy overhangs and roofs, but there are a few low grade crack/friction problems. It is easy to access from the north side of Atlanta ,but it's a small area so don't expect to be there for days.
From Atlanta take 400 North and exit at the Northridge Rd. exit. Turn right onto Dunwoody Place then follow and take another right onto Roberts Dr. Look for the Island Ford park sign on the right. Once inside the park head to the second parking lot on your left. There is a $3 per day fee and box with tags. Follow the trail down to the left and when you hit the river take a left so the river is on your right. As you reach the first sizable creek there will be a trail to the left. This leads to the Sandman area. All other boulders can be found by following the trail straight and are easily noticeable.

Nick- Dude can't thank you enough for developing some of these boulders & sharing the beta. I grew up in the metro area before i started climbing then moved out to tahoe a little over a year ago. I'm coming back home over thanksgiving to see family so now i'm stoked to jump on some new boulders so close to where I grew up. Thanks again for sharing!

No problem man, I feel like there is great bouldering around the ATL area other than Boat Rock, just have to find it.
