Description

Iowa has many indoor climbing walls. Some are open to the public and others are private. Some require membership, or a daily use fee, and may ask you to read and sign a waiver. Other indoor facilities are very informal and by invitation only. These are typically smaller in size and protected with bouldering pads and excellent attentive spotting.

Please feel free to contribute information about your indoor climbing wall. It could be a public university wall or something you set up at home. This is the place to share information about Iowa Indoor Climbing Walls.

Please add an AREA for your indoor climbing facility.
From there you may add individual routes.

Getting There

Please include directions to your indoor climbing facility on the AREA you define.

Left-most route. The holds are huge and closely spaced. A fun game to play is to climb on only 'natural' features to the first ledge. Toprope TIP: Keep the rope snug at the start of all routes. A fall low on the wall can result in tagging the floor if the belayer doesn't account for rope stretch. Keep TR snug when climber is at the roof above the belay ledge. Can be lead but typically done on top rope. This route has a belay ledge for practicing multi-pitch climbing. This route as well as the nex...[more]   Browse More Classics in Iowa

I'm thinking about removing the indoor climbing pages.
At least the 'route' pages.
