No pockets, but still a fun route.

Rock climbing is mostly illegal in the state of Indiana. For legal climbing in the state, check out Muscatatuck Park.

Two hand start using the undercling and the crimp to the left of the undercling near the bottom of the boulder. Nice move with the right hand to a slopey edge. Cam your heel into the bottom of the dihedral to make a move into the left crimp. Use your body tension, possibly with a toe hook, to land the pocket. After the pocket it's smooth sailing. Move to a gross pinch for an easy top out sequence....[more]   Browse More Classics in Indiana

My son and I are going to be passing through the midwest this July on our quest to climb in all 50 states... Can anyone recommend the best place to go in Indiana for a day of climbing? Preferably leading (sport or trad), but bouldering or top-roping would be ok, too.

As far as I know, the only two places to climb in Indiana are Muscatatuck Park and Unlikely Wall. If you're looking for bouldering go to Muscatatuck, if you're looking for sport/top rope go to Unlikely!

There is much more climbing in this state than one would expect, but it tends to be incredibly loose, very short, and have horrible access (I've been threatened with guns by hick landowners). If you're trying to climb in all 50 states, I would stick to Muscatatuck or Unlikely. Any of the other areas simply aren't worth the effort.
