I am day dreaming about climbing all day, what's wrong with me?

I was introduced to climbing 2 months ago. Been climbing Monday, Thu, Sat ever since. I would do more if I could spare my time. I was doing top rope for the first 2 month, and went bouldering yesterday. Current stats is I can do V2, and some V3s. I can't really crimp small holds much, because I have not got a chance to practice much on my previous gym. Hopefully I can improve as I see those small crimps alot on V4 and V5.

I find myself day dreaming about my routes, and climbing all day. My body are inching to go climbing. My thoughts and my dreams (literally) are filled with climbing, crux sequences and how to solve the next moves.

What is wrong with me??? :)

Welcome to what you're life has irreversibly become.
And you're lucky too. A lot of folks out there don't find something to be this passionate about.

There's this other thing called sex, too. Dude. Really, it's pretty awesome.

What is wrong with you is you are only bouldering... Get some serious air under your feet, you will be hallucunating after that.

Don't listen to Stich, a perfect handcrack stretching on towards infinity is far better.

@J Hazard. Yes, only bouldering and top rope at gym for now. I am still looking for friends to do outdoor climbing. I can only imagine what that will be like for now.

@Jake Jones. I wish I found this way way earlier in life as well. I am 33 now. I made sure that my son got introduced to it earlier in life. He is 7, and he is loving it all the way. To my surprise, He was able to do some V2s yesterday.

yes. a little over a year into climbing now and I have been lucky enough to get a full rack and jump into traditional climbing. when you start dreaming about crack climbing it's all over for you. you will never look at rock the same. your relationship will suffer some unless your significant gets into climbing. bouldering will become something you do when you can't go out and place gear. you will forget what gym top roping feels like. after a year of climbing, adding routes on MP to your "to-do" list will become erotic; drooling over the computer. hopefully you have a job/family that supports your new found hobby. Be safe, have fun!

Nothing is wrong with you. In fact, it's the opposite. Something is right.

Nothing at all wrong with you. Just remember to keep the paychecks rolling in until you're ready to retire. Balance-balance and power...

It just gets better from hear man. No going back.

+1 hand crack going to infinity.

Climbing is better than sex. And the mountains will never leave you...

Ps get into trad and alpine from there!

I dream about climbing areas a lot...when I wake up its like: wow that was a sweet crag. When im dreaming it I think I know exactly where it is. I may have a dejavoi and in real life be like : wow I know this! I dreamed it up. My hands sweat on approach usually. U can't compare relationships with climbing its two completely different things and fulfill different needs. All my resources go to climbing, trips and sustaining the lifestyle for the lack of kids. I feel like a complete person in my life.

Be prepared for your son to be crushing way harder than you if you guys stick with climbing in subsequent years. Welcome to an entirely new life than the one that existed before you started climbing and enjoy every waking moment!

@Jeremy Hand. Preparing for that moment to come, I know it will. My son enjoyed climbing and seemed pretty good at it.

I loved this new world of climbing, and bouldering.

I've made some slow progress during this month but are still having hard time with crimps and small holds (hand). Any suggestions?

My only regret is that I don't climb as much as I'm used to. But I will get back to climbing more soon. Don't know how, but I will.

I've had that daydream for the last years. Unfortunately the only medicine is to get out and do it.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.

Bouldering
