Beautiful blue water in the bay.

The short cliffs above the tide pools that form the east side of Hulopo'e Bay resemble those at Pirate's Cove in Southern California, albeit those at Hulopo'e Bay are red in color and of volcanic origin. The cliffs at Hulopo'e Bay extend 200 yds from the south end of the sandy beach to the point. The matrix is crumbly and suspect, but offers wonderful pockets and knobby grips in numerous caves and shelves.

Getting There

Take the Maui-Lanai Ferry from Lahaine to Manele. Walk north from the dock and then west to Hulopo'e Beach Park. Continue walking the dirt road to the south to a green metal railing and steps down to the base of the cliffs.
