How will a Trump presidency affect climbers

Just curious as to what people are thinking about last night election results and the effect that they will have on us as climbers. Will we loose access to public lands? Is it possible we could see privitization of many outdoor resources? should we all start pooling money to buy Yosemite?

For real though. Do any of you think it will have a real impact on the world of climbing?

With the current glut of oil and nat gas, the short-term looks safe.

Well, if the EPA really does get disbanded it should take a few years at least..

I'm a bit afraid of what's happening, but I must admit--I would ride that zip line.

Climbing will become a privilege for the rich. People with shinny new gear carrying backpacks full of microbrews in and playing music on their latest smart phone. The parking lots will be full expensive promasters and sprinters. You know the usual.

Yosemite is already Disneyland, so what's there to worry about?

In the 70's there was an idea, motion, proposal, call it what you will, to put 'attractions' in the valley, which included a monorail around the valley rim, elevator up and down walls, etc.. This after theY added firefalls (pushing 10+ chords of burning wood over glacier point to the valley floor) and the 'daily bear feeding (complete with bleachers for the tourists.
Not that the valley isn't a low form of d-land now anyway.....but.
Yeah, things are going to change, we may all become outlaws, but what would John Long do?
CLIMB ON!

Surely many of you have read the Monkey Wrench Gang. One of my favorite campsites (and one of Doc Sarvis' as well) is on Comb Ridge, just outside Bluff, Utah. It was public land, owned by the state. Last month, Utah sold the parcel of land to the highest bidder.

Is a Trump administration going to sell off Yosemite? No. But there are many people who would like to cut taxes drastically and make up the deficit by selling off BLM or USFS land. After all, it's just sagebrush and pine trees, right?

It'll be fine...
