How wet is it?
Vegas forecast looks grim. How wet has it really been? Has everything gotten soaked or just back in the canyons? Just trying to get an on the ground report. Thanks. |
It's wet everywhere |

.5 inch in last hour according to NOAA. Radar covers whole of Red Rock. |
I work as a climbing guide in Red Rock which means I keep a very close watch on the conditions during/after rain. I need dry conditions to make a living. I've gone out to assess conditions several times over the last several days. |

The below link is the weather gauge at the visitor's center. Obviously weather van vary from canyon to canyon and cliff to cliff, but it is damn wet out there today. |
Standing water all over the place , washes are just drenched an I'm pretty sure a mini water fall was coming down the the wall next to sandstone quarry's parking lot. |
Or during either^ ....saw several groups contemplating it in the willow area....kindly said something but got that yeah, whatever look! |

Locals: Given the current conditions, will the rock be climbable by Thurs or Friday? thursday for the first pullout, Friday for Juniper Canyon. |

I just saw this article tweeted by Rock and Ice talking about climbing the day after rain and breaking rock off Dream of Wild Turkeys. No mention that they shouldn't have been out on wet rock even though they were out with people training to be guides... |

Jer, about DWT...that was my first thought also. Collection spot, dirt, vegetation (read sponge), big block and some percolation. Classic recipe just about anywhere I can think of. |

Anybody check the conditions this afternoon? Out from Maine this week, hiked out Pine creek canyon Monday and obviously damp still, was hoping to get out tomorrow, but with cooler temps and not so low humidity wondering if it isn't drying out as quick as usual. |
We went up to the Ironman wall this morning (thursday)and decided against climbing. The ground was very wet with lot's of standing water. The rock on the approach was noticeably wet everywhere and Trundle wall had several very obvious wet streaks. |
