hello everyone. I just recently got a membership at a local gym. I was wondering what a good schedule for a beginner would be. How many days a week should I go and how many rest days if any I should have. I have mainly been bouldering and doing some top roping when I can talk one of my friends into going with me. Thanks in advance.
As a complete beginner -- twice a week for the first few weeks, with at least a day off in between the two climbing days. As you get more used to the movement and get stronger, scaling up to 3 times per week, again preferring to have at least one day off between sessions will work fairly well for the next while.
