Surfside rocks and debris, Houda Point

Description

The south area of Houda is the boulders, coves and short cliffs from Houda Point to just north of Moonstone. During low tide and low surf you can sometimes walk between the two beaches.

Getting There

Take the trail and follow the south stairs onto the beach. Walk 100-400 yards to the easily visible rocks.

Rock Climbing Photo: Traverse from right to left

Juguysko Traverse V3 6A  California : Redwood Coast : ... : Houda South
Nice traverse starting right and ending left. Only accessible earlier in the season when sand levels are low. Crux is the transition from the mid section to the final section of the traverse. Final section (Juguysko Jam) can be finished in one of three ways and is its own problem when the sand levels are higher. Stay low for a V5 finish, cut across the middle for a V4 finish, or go high and finish the traverse along the top for a continued V3 finish....[more]   Browse More Classics in California
