Hillside Crags Rock Climbing
Barrel cactus on the ridge. Photo by Blitzo.
There are 5 climbs on the hillside above and to the right of the parking lot and the trail to 49 Palms Oasis.
From the parking lot, it's best to hike back along the road for a minute or two, and then head up the hillside to anything that looks big enough to have a roped rock climb on it....these are the climbs.

This climb in on the right side of the group of rocks, and has 2 bolts to a obvious thin finger crack. No anchors on top, but a large boulder to easily sling for the anchor. Short but excellent climbing. ...[more] Browse More Classics in CA
