Or you can go straight up

Description

Climb the cracks between the large blocks on the low-angle slope. The route trends right as you pass a left-facing corner formed by a protruding block. A good choice for a first-time leader or young kids on top-rope.

Variation (5.7+) Climb straight up on the slabs, avoiding the cracks.

Location

Between Emerald City Wall and A-Frame Wall. Walk off left.

Protection

Takes a lot of pro. Trees at top for anchors

As mentioned, nice practice for a new lead with some opportunity to toughen up the grade by avoiding the obvious 'trail.' New leads will also find ample features to practice building a solid gear anchor at the top of the climb.

Pretty sure that short left facing corner with the hemlock above is "Double Crutch". FA by Clint Cummins in 1980

Clint said it was an old ground up ascent, no bolts placed on lead, way ahead of its time.
