BETA PHOTO: The route with a rope on it.

This is a relatively sustained route with solid ledge handholds and pockets. Mounting the ledge beneath the anchors is a little trickier than it looks.

The set of bolts located between the Mind Mantle Arete and the 69.5 Crack.

4 bolts plus anchors (Eds. one is loose and wiggles).

This is a fun route with very featured rock that is mostly 5.6 until one difficult move below the anchors.

Someone did a nice job putting up this route; it must have a name. I just noticed it for the first time today, so it must be pretty recent. Like Kevin Spies a Line nearby, this route is a good beginner lead.

The route is called "High Plains Whimper"; FA: Eric and Whitney Sorenson, April 2010.

We're glad everyone has enjoyed the route so far.

There is a bee hive about 5 feet to the left of the second bolt, I've climbed it twice in the last 4 weeks with two different groups and nobody has been stung.

By the way, it was my first lead!

This is a fun route, but it cannot be top roped. It is listed that it can, but unless you climb the crack to the right, it cannot be easily top roped. Also, none of the bolts seemed loose today.

Well bolted-every clip is secure and well placed. Good beginner lead. Mostly pretty easy except from the last bolt to the anchors requires a couple awkward moves if you go straight up. Saw a couple people move right and then up to the final ledge, which is easier.

Be aware, there is a bee's nest about halfway up, off to the left. They didn't bother us yesterday, but you can hear the hum coming from it. If you were doing the trad route to the left of HPW, I'd skip it. You'd have to cross right over the opening.
