Description

In Wise County VA, there is a TON of really good sandstone. High cliffs, big boulders, and beautiful views. Flag Rock is a cool little park with several great boulder problems located along High Knob Rd, and there are untold amounts of perfect sandstone boulders near the lower reservoir. Beyond this, more toward High Knob, is another massive boulder field. Stay tuned for development!

One of the very best at the Lab!This problem is both bold and beautiful. Stand start (could go from the sit, but the sit start isn't as fun and doesn't add to the difficulty) with a left hand underclinging and iron edge under the bulge, and a right hand on the sloper/chunk (both mid-arête). Climb directly up the tall arête using thin crimps and a sloper/pinch to compress your way up the proud arete to the high, obvious jug. From the obvious protruding jug...[more]   Browse More Classics in Virginia

Reckon this is the closest bouldering to Kingsport, TN? I'm heading down for the weekend and am trying to find a close spot to check out.

Yeah Quinn, check it out! The sandstone is great and approach is short.
