RAIN AND WET ROCK The sandstone in Red Rocks is fragile and is very easily damaged when it is wet. MORE INFO >>>

The 'Hidden Corridor,' as its name implies, is an unobvious area that many walk by without notice en route to the more southeastern Sandstone Quarry crags. It is a very pretty location with varied climbing and interesting passageways, only a 5 minute walk from the car. Traditional, as well as sport climbing lines, exist here. The routes face in many different directions, so sun or shade can most likely be found at any time.

Getting There

Begin your approach as for the Stratocaster area. From the southeast corner of the parking lot, follow the east/west running trail which leads around to the south facing aspect of Calico Hills. After about 150 yards, make a left at a break and scramble down a steep stone gully which deposits you at the west end of a narrow corridor. Several sport routes (Sandy Secrets, Dirty Secret, etc) exist in this east/west corridor. To access 'Little Red,' and adjacent routes, continue north through a really tight a-frame corridor.

Climbing Season

Walking on a Dream 5.11 6c+ 23 VIII- 23 E4 5c  Nevada : Red Rock : ... : Hidden Corridor
This is not your typical Red Rocks' sport route. The climbing is more akin to Joshua Tree in style and finale (slabbery with a top out finish). Begin by standing on a boulder with your left hand on a big sidepull, and right hand in the seam. Twenty ft. of bouldery moves through vertical terrain, lead to 40 ft. of sustained, technical horizontal movement across a super thin arcing rail. Top out, there is no anchor on the face. A bolted anchor exists 3 feet beyond the top out. To descend, walk of...[more]   Browse More Classics in Nevada
