A nice small cluster of boulders on the way to the main bouldering area of the mountain. It's right to the left of the main trail on the way to Devil's Half Acre.

Getting There

See the Sourland Mountain Reserve trail map.

From the main parking area, take the Ridge Trail (#1 on trail map) toward the North side of the mountain. Stay on the main trail and keep right (North) at all junctions.

When you get to the junction with the C (connecting) trail, stay right on the main trail for a few minutes and you'll see the Half Moon boulders on the left. If you hit the Devil's Half Acre boulders, you've missed the area.

GPS coordinates for the first boulder in the area:
Lat: N 40°28'40" (40.4778)
Lon: W 74°42'11" (-74.7031)

Stand-start on big flake. Move up to the rail and top out either right through a nice seam, or left to a reachy jug next to the adjacent boulder....[more]   Browse More Classics in New Jersey
