Seasonal Raptor Closures for access issues: please review


An area holding a good number of great climbs, including John Sherman's Green Mountain Gringo, put up during his quest to boulder in all fifty states.

The name is mine, but seems fitting considering the naming scheme for the problems located here. I'll change it if it's been getting called something else.

Getting There 

Walk to the left of the Top Rope boulders and follow the path uphill until you see the cave formation on your right.

Climbing Season

For the Boulders Behind the Main Parking Lot/Visitor Center area.

Start low on the large rail system and work your way out into a pocket that allows you to pull onto some crimps and left into another rail system before topping out. This line is kind of highball and a little spicy. Supposedly the line that John Sherman did, "The Green Egg", tops out more directly and does not traverse quite as far left as "Green Mountain Gringo" (which is the obvious exit) and bumps the grade up to V6/7 however I personally think it is a bit contrived to think of these as two s...[more]   Browse More Classics in Vermont
