A large boulder. Jump off of it into the deep pool...

A nice and secluded little area with a tranquil feel to it. There is a huge boulder with a sick roof and 2 5.11 climbs. If you look around you will find deep pools where you can cliff dive off of plus do some great deep water soloing. There is still a lot of potential in this area, plus downstream you will find more boulders and cliffs. Plus a few slabs.

Getting There

Follow the trail downstream about 10 - 15 minutes from the Dome.

Climbing Season

For the Cosumnes River Gorge area.

Steep loose fists lead to an awkward crux as the crack widens and transitions to offwidth. Find the right technique and you'll be much happier, and yes, it's not one you can learn in the gym! It is short, but nonetheless, it is an excellent climb that is not to be missed. Give it a try!...[more]   Browse More Classics in California

Where the approach trail reaches the top of Bucks Bar, following the right hand trail at a junction. Keep to the highest elevation trail at any forks. Eventually it will wander down to Granite Cove, giving a scenic view of the sandy beach next to a big picturesque boulder on the final descent.
