Graffiti In the Flatirons Again

So I was out cruising the Second Flatiron on Friday afternoon in the lovely weather we had and noticed that some group of of idiots decided to do the same exact thing that happened on the First last year.

I got to the top and stepped a little further left than normal to make way for people coming off the route and noticed some distinctive looking writing tucked away from normal view.

I couldn't help but immediately think about the uproar last year from what happened on the First. Unfortunately I don't have any forms of social media so I can't go looking for who these people might be, but I figured someone on here might have the desire to put in the effort. I do occasionally remind people to tread delicately up there, but for the most part I mind my own business. This is too much of a middle finger to the community to let go. You can see from my other picture below that it was done slightly out of the way thinking that people might not see it.

I highly doubt that these jackasses will ever clean this up, so if someone can recommend a good cleaning product I will try to get up there some afternoon this week and clean it off. That being said, if you can find who these people are and out them, I wouldn't be opposed.

I'd Recommend a hammer to the toes of anyone who thinks they're special enough to put their names where the other 100,000,000 people before them haven't.

It looks like it is just permanent marker, in which case try alcohol first. Isopropyl should dissolve it no problem, alcohol wipes might even work fine but pouring a little on it will probably be fastest.

I feel like I've already used up my "ridicule radbros with their social media" allotment on the eagle closure thread, but I'll help as I can.

i said it on the eagle post, we NEED a Wyatt Earp for the climbing community. and no, i will not be your huckleberry.

Someone just blast it with eraser and we'll keep the photos here for posterity.

If it bugs anyone that much, have you considered putting together a Graffiti eradication team for the Front Range? Cataloging methods and keeping some materials that work, then cooperating to be rid of this kind of stuff?
Just a thought. There is even a local climbing Organization that I figure you could work through... it just needs someone to champion the effort.

What's it written with? If it's sharpie you could give it a scrub with some brillo pad and rubbing alcohol or acetone.

This just happened at Enchanted Rock in Texas. The amazing part is just how oblivious this person is to being filmed/seen by others, like what he is doing is perfectly normal. That in itself says a lot about the mindset of people who do this.

Taggin' dat rock, yo!

Update: The culprits were easily identified and served fines. Ha ha.

Hey all, just want everyone to know that this was not me so please do not message me anymore. I went to Colorado this past spring break but I would never graffiti something so beautiful. Hope you guys catch the culprit but it was not me.

Thanks and good luck,

Don

There have been accounts created in the past month by people with the first name and last initial of everyone on the list (with the exception of the second which I can't read) within the last month (two within the last day). It's probably coincidence but still interesting.

Edit: don't rake these people over the coals

Get out of here with yer logic and reasoning, don't need none of that on mountain project.
Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
