The Gordian Knott.. Photo by Cath Suillivan

A superb route, breaking through the central overhangs by a hanging corner.Starts at the first obvious break left of White Ghyll Wall. P1)The steep slab is climbed with increasing difficulty to a niche and belays.60' 5.7. P2)Traverse right to the foot of a steep corner. The first few feet are problomatical and lead to a small ledge on the right wall. Good holds lead back into the corner which is followed to a a chockstone belay.5o' 5.7+. P3) The wide crack is climbed to a ledge on the right. Continue up the wall on good holds to the top. 80'.5.6.
