Description

This short crack is a good intro climb for new leaders. This may be a better way to get to the hand crack on Gollum.

Location

South of the Main Wall of Burgers and Fries. Head up a small side trail through the trees, and go right at the wall. You will come to a left-facing groove/dihedral. This groove is the start for Gollum/Sour Grapes (5.7). Just to the left is the start for Bilbo Baggins. Around the corner to the right is Frodo's First Step.

Protection

Small rack to 2 inches. Two bolts at the top, though I recommend a directional if you are going to top-rope the route (to keep the rope out of the crack). You can walk off right (with a spotter at the bottom), or rappel off of trees.
