BETA PHOTO: Frijoles Crack (5.8), Tortilla Flats, White Rock, ...

Description

This is route # 13 in the online guide.
A nice, but all-too-short, offwidth to squirm up. The bottom 1/3 is just blocky scrambling to get to the base of the crack. Maybe a little soft for a White Rock 5.8.

Location

On the right-center side of the "Four Faces" near the center of the crag.

Protection

Light rack of cams to a #5 Friend (fits perfectly in the OW).

Set a gear anchor on top or use the two-bolt anchor.

I’ve climbed this twice, and both times staying in the off-width seems like a stiff 5.8, at least. Alternative on this route is to bail on the crack and use face holds to the left.
