Description

A truly amazing alpine experience, Frazier Lake is nice and more fluid than it looks. Quality lines on quality limestone, the routes here follow the best faces and stone.

Mostly bolted, a majority of the routes will require a small rack. There are some sport routes, but mixed lines dominate the crag.

The descent varies, but most will descend via slings and cord wrapped around a large tree down and south though the scree and slab system. The second option is to do a two rope rappel back to the south from the tower above Vanishing Point via a chain anchor. Both options will bring you to the top of the trail before the descent to the climbs.

Getting There

Once parked across the meadow, follow a faint trail that climbs the hill to the north. Once at the top of the hill, descend to the base of the cirque and work your way east along Frazier Lake. From there follow faint trails towards the south end of the large buttress. From here work down slabs and ledges to the base and find your chosen route. Expect and hour to an hour an a half to get there.

When doing a day trip, we usually rack up and stash unwanted gear at the south end of the buttress before the descent so you don't have to go back down to the base.
