Hey, I am looking for partners for sport climbing trips near the Northern VA area. I really enjoy getting out to Franklin and Reeds Creek often and I have a flexible schedule to do so. I climb with people at EarthTreks Rockville (occasionally SR too) during the week but its not always easy to find available and motivated partners for outdoors.

I have a car and nice rope/draws ready to go. Franklin area is an easy 2.5 hr day trip and I can be at the NRG in 5 hrs.

I've been off climbing due to overtraining injuries so just keeping it mellow right now but I've been climbing a long time. I am down to just belay on harder projects sometimes or cruise easy routes with you, whatever works.

Message or email me. Would love to get out this weekend!

Has anyone been to Franklin since the flooding? Is the crag accessible?

I might be looking to go to Franklin sometime in the next week. I climbed nearby at Reeds Creek this last Sunday and camped at Big Bend campground which is also accessed along the South Branch Potomac River like the climbing at Franklin. I did not see any evidence of flooding in the area. The roads were fine and the water levels were not high. Families were swimming in the water, fisherman wading around, etc. I am guessing it's not an issue.

No issues at Franklin as far as flooding goes.

I was going to head either to the New or the Red on the evening of Wed July 27th, and stay until Monday Aug 1st. I have all the gear, just need a belay. If any of you were interested in going, let me know.
