I found a pair of crampons on 1/13/08 in Unaweep Canyon. Identify them, and they are yours. Spread the word around, it's a bummer to lose things!

Hi Jeff

Its a total bummer to lose things especially when you have travelled such a long way!!

we were over from Ireland for the first two weeks in January and I suspect you found my crampons. after a day out on upper no thoroughfare in the national monument we spent the following day trying to find spooky tooth and syndar falls up unaweep canyon without any success!!

We were probably being total Muppets but in our defence we couldn’t see more than a couple of hundred yards from the road and we were baddly hung over ;)

We pulled in at a lay by approx 15 miles up the road as instructed by the guide book and blazed a trail up a gorge to a fairly frightening steep thin cascade that was just about touching down. We have absolutely no idea what the climb was and it looked a bit to close to WI 6 for my ability

I only realised that I left my crampons behind when we went to gear up at rifle the next day. I can only assume they fell out of my ruc on the way down or I left hem lying at me arse at the foot of the climb or in the lay by. they are BD Sonics or bionics?, I cant remember the exact name but they were probably wrapped up in a piece of duck tapped card

Id absolutely love to get them back for sentimatel value if nothing else. The only problem is that I live in Belfast and am not likely to get back to colorado for another couple of years. Having said that I would defiantly send you the money for postage as they are badly needed for some scottish winter action!!

Email is jock.read@talk21.com or jockread@gmail.com- I’ll have to get some of our photos from that day online

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
