Description

A secluded boulder uphill from the rest of The Beehive boulders. This boulder contains a very hard test piece in which the block of monzonite is named after. On the uphill side this rock also has a plethora of intermediate and low-grade problems, all the names are unknown or unnamed so names will be given to them depending on location and movement.
This boulder has a fairly good landing in comparison to its downhill neighbor Luminance. The ground is covered in small pea-sized gravel and it is fairly flat.

Getting There

From the main trail heading towards the Secrets Area, about directly uphill from the massive Luminance block.(Luminance on left, Form Destroyer uphill on right.) Climb the gravelly steep hill to a large boulder which has a smaller boulder directly in front of it and then a mid-sized boulder to the right of that one.

Climbing Season

For the Buttermilk Country area.

A short crimp test-piece on an awesome roof. Start at a smooth hueco and make a big move to a tiny crimp. From here bump up to the lip and take the foot cut without dabbing! Match and obtain better holds and top out on good flakes and finish up a slab. Enjoy the fine view of the secluded area and Buttermilk country once on top of the boulder.A scrunchy heel hook could prove crucial at the beginning....[more]   Browse More Classics in California
