The boulders located below Zeke's Wall in the forest above the clear cut. The area can be divided into the West, Middle, and East Forest. To access the west area turn left at the major fork and park in the west parking area. To access the East Forest turn right at the major fork and park in the east parking area. The boulders are generally smaller than those found in the clear cut. The boulders can get very mossy so bring some brushes. In the summer the mosquitoes can be vicious.

Getting There

Take Hwy. 2 East to Gold Bar. After you pass Gold Bar take a left on Reiter Rd. Follow Reiter Rd. At the 2.1 mile mark take a left onto a large gravel rd. Follow this road under the powerlines to a sharp right turn and head up the ridge. Stay on this gravel road. It will pass an orange gate and continue up the mountain. The road will switch back several times until you end up in a clear-cut with many prominent, large white boulders. The boulders are spread out over this clearing and up into the forest below the cliff.

Rock Climbing Photo: SDS in cave on horizontal roof crack for Baby Crac...

Baby Crackhead V4 6B  Washington : Central-West Cascades & Sea... : ... : Forest
SDS under the roof as far back as you can go and match hands where the horizontal roof crack widens to a sidepull/undercling. Follow crack out of roof and match on nice hold at lip; heel hook and reach up for sloping lip. Follow sloping lip up and to the right. Mantle up to large hold and top out. Super fun moves and awesome problem!! Named after Squamish's Crackhead due to similarity but smaller and tougher. ...[more]   Browse More Classics in Washington

Looks fun. Where is Doja? Is that in the East Forest? That boulder is supposed to have a bunch of cool lines on it.

I am pretty sure the problem you are looking for [Doja (V7)] is on the very left side of the East forest. From the East parking area walk up into the woods maybe 20 meters and then head west in the woods. You will come to a series (3 or 4) of really large (3 story) boulders. I call them the hondo boulders. They are hard to miss. There are some sick high lines and long, long traverses on these. I think Doja is on the extreme southwestern corner of the boulders.

Went to forest area but the dirt road described was closed. Very limited parking on the street and the approach with the road closure was about 45 minutes. Am I just missing something? Or is this just what it is like now?

Tina -
Maybe it has to do with temporary road work for the timber harvest. Did you see the notice in the dashed-red box above the description?

You might check with MP user Joe Sambataro, who works for the Access Fund and posts some of these notices here.
