April 19, 2017: Weekday access to the Gold Bar boulders has now reopened following a temporary closure to ensure public safety during harvest activities associated with the Dyno timber sale. In partnership with Access Fund and Washington Climbers Coalition, DNR preserved access to much of the road network hikers and climbers use to access the Gold Bar boulders. The obvious tall arete on the east side of the boulder. It used to have a big pole vault pit underneath it for a crash pad, which is sadly gone now. I don't have any pictures, but there are some really good ones here: 0friction.com/thumbz.php?area_....
